History Behind The Sports Mind
An accomplished athlete and coach in her own right, Ann has earned individual and team titles in intercollegiate volleyball and basketball and is a former world-ranked tennis player. As a result, she offers a rare combination of personal experience and professional expertise. From goal setting and transition, Ann understands firsthand the issues competitors -- athletes, coaches, parents and business people encounter. Faced with a life-threatening illness at a young age, Ann instills in her clients and audiences an inspiration that can only come from overcoming such an obstacle -- and achieving one's goals. In fact, she created and designed The Sports Mind to help competitors develop to their fullest potential through the use of performance planning and mental training techniques. Due to Ann's success, her skills and services have been requested not only by athletes, but businesses, companies and corporations as well. As a result she has become a much sought-after speaker throughout the nation and abroad.
Combining her experience as a former professional athlete and coach with her expertise as a sport psychology consultant, Ann Beery adds a unique dimension to any media sports coverage, banquet or meeting.
An effective communicator, Ann is a much sought-after broadcast commentator and keynote speaker for a number of associations and organizations. Equally comfortable on-air or in front of a crowd, she is versatile in her ability to discuss a variety of topics and answer questions with intelligence and humor. As a result, audiences of all ages and backgrounds -- adults or adolescents, professional athletes or armchair rookies -- will appreciate her input and insight.
From such sensitive subjects as Jennifer Capriati's 1994 drug arrest to the basics of improving one's golf game, Ann provides refreshing perspectives and tips for real life applications. Not surprisingly, she is much sought after by private companies and professional organizations, as well as the local and national media.

To be a great athlete requires balance in all of the areas of performance. Genetics will lay the groundwork up to a point, and it is where the Performance Evaluation may shed some light into what an athlete's weaknesses are so that improvements are realized and the athlete can achieve their maximal potential.
